Brief Description
The Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (MoWECP) and the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) have implemented Presidential Regulation No. 88/2021 on the National Strategy for Aging to strengthen protection for elderly individuals, including elderly women, from various forms of violence. Key measures include advocacy and awareness-raising to prevent elder abuse, assistance and rehabilitation for elderly individuals in emergencies, gender-responsive protection models, standards for examining elderly victims or perpetrators, and training for law enforcement and correctional staff on handling cases involving elderly persons.
